Lecroy x-stream wavepro 7300, DDA-5005, SDA-6000A oscilloscopes upgrade
I would like to describe simple but efficient upgrade for Lecroy wavepro 7k (7100, 7200, 7300, 7300A, 7200A, DDA-3000), partially DDA-5005, SDA-6000A and maybe other Lecroy oscilloscopes. For upgrade first of all you need to replace old MB, processor, cooler, memory, HDD with such:
This will boost computation speed 10x compared to Lecroy`s 7300 default processor, and dramatically reduce startup time.
Also i create WinXP installation disc with latest XP Embedded updates, optimizations for 10" display, uniprocessor HAL by default(no need for new front panel driver), etc. You can download it here. Patched BIOS (by LLC) can be downloaded here. Secondly seal case in the fan area, and replace Panaflo FBA12G12U with Nidec servo D1225C12B6, this will reduce noise 5-6 times! with ADC&MFE temperature lowered by 0..2 degree. Only this unique "Gentle Typhoons" can be used, with another low speed fans temperature rise would be unacceptable +10 deg, even with good Sanyo denki 9G1212M1011 temp rise would be up to +3 deg. Also replace Panaflo FBA09A12H with Sanyo denki 9G0912H or Nidec servo D0925C12B4.
